Application Service Provider (ASP)
Cobalt can serve as your ASP allowing you to focus on
your business while our team of professionals focus on
meeting all of your technology needs.
E-Commerce applications
Available as an option combined with Web Hosting.
This application allows clients the ability to sell
products, take orders and arrange for shipping via
the World Wide Web.
Application Hosting
Cobalt gives clients the ability to outsource the
administration of many common software applications
such as word processing, finance and database programs.
The software resides on Cobalt's servers, not the
client's server. The software is always ready to
go, eliminating lengthy configurations for new users
and is continually upgraded, eliminating costly
new software purchases by the customer. Customers
pay a fee that is less costly than buying software,
licenses and upgrades when a new version is released.
Unified Messaging
Unified Messaging is an integration of e-mail, voice
mail and fax into a common inbox. The user can access
his/her inbox from a telephone or through a Web
browser. Cobalt plans to offer a voice activated
"Digital Assistant" that will operate
in conjunction with Unified Messaging. |
Internet Telephone Service Provider (ITSP)
Cobalt offers convenient and cost effective Voice over
Internet Protocol (VoIP) services including the following
benefits:
Toll Bypass. Cobalt gives its clients
the ability to utilize its VoIP technology, which
can translate into tremendous savings in long distance
charges between intra-company locations or to the
rest of the world. Cobalt can eliminate the need
for expensive Direct Outward Dial (DOD) and Direct
Inward Dial (DID) facilities. By utilizing this
service, toll call charges can be eliminated entirely.
If you have locations that reside outside of the
same LATA boundaries, the savings are immediate
and substantial. If your typical long distance calls
are to other IP phones, or to other company locations
on the Cobalt network, these calls are free of charge.
Long distance calls to non-IP phones, or locations
not on the Cobalt network, Cobalt charges a low,
flat rate. This is an excellent cost-saving option
for businesses with multiple locations in different
area codes. In almost all cases, the savings is
at least twice the cost of the connections - a very
quick return on investment!
Conference Calling/Bridging. Allows for functionality
currently provided only, until now, by operator
services from telecom carriers or from expensive
"add on" pieces of electronics coupled
with the customer's internal PBX.
Voice Mail. This requires additional equipment
and integration when used with traditional PBX or
key systems. Cobalt can maintain a virtual PBX for
your business so that when connected by our high-speed
circuits everyone will have the ability utilize
a single voice mail systems. This can save your
business time and money.

Video Services:
- Video Conferencing. Live, streaming
video for internal meetings or meetings with
other clients/organizations. Video conferencing
can be used for audio, graphic and video access
on an "as-needed" basis with significant

wideband digital communications without having
to invest in expensive access lines. This application
can save tremendous amounts of time and money
that would otherwise be spent on travel.
- Video on Demand. Video can be archived
by Cobalt to be called up at the client's discretion.
Can be used for employee training, "pay
per view" access of commercial motion pictures,
video, or simply to watch the local high school
football game at a later time.
- Games on Demand. Through partnership
arrangements with gaming providers, such as
Palestar, Inc. and Playnet.com, Cobalt can offer
real-time gaming to its customers.

other medical professionals the ability to view

Other Services:
- Disaster Recovery
Cobalt's
solution provides an excellent source of redundancy
to already existing hard-wired telco network. For
companies or cities that want or need an alternate
telecommunications network, Cobalt's broadband network
is a real solution. Forces of nature or other unforeseen
events can often affect hardwired networks, whereas
a wireless network has the ability to bypass and/or
transmit through these events.
As for Cobalt's network
redundancy, this can be designed to accommodate
as many paths of ingress and egress as is necessary
for the customer. Based on our own analysis, and
that of our partners, we guarantee a service level
of 99.98%. We are in the process of implementing
a distributed system that will allow for Radio Frequency
transmissions between cities. This will guarantee
at least 3 separate paths for transmission.
- Encryption Security
Cobalt can utilize 128-bit key encryption as needed
throughout its network. In addition, we can also
limit to some degree what websites are accessible
and which are not at the user level via keywords.
We also employ user identification and password
protection at the user level.
- Collocation
At any time, customer
premise equipment (CPE) can be located in
Cobalt's data center. The customer benefits from
this arrangement because they no longer have to
monitor and service their own equipment. This
service is especially important to entities that
do not wish to have a full time IT staff. It
also enables the customer to sit closer to
alternate carriers, which provides for more
competition for your business.
- Remote Storage and Remote Backup
Cobalt can allow businesses the ability to back-up, and store off-site,
critical data to use as a hedge against unforeseen events which could damage
your existing computers and/or internal network. By storing your critical
data offsite, a company can have confidence that its data will always be
recoverable. These services are available as frequently as a customer
desires, and pricing is driven by the amount of digital storage space used. |
