T1 Services
T1 connections move information at nearly 100 times that of a traditional dial-up modem. They are also extremely reliable. Depending on their intended use, T1 lines can generally accommodate many people. For general browsing, hundreds of users are able to share a single T1 circuit. For data intensive applications, such as graphics, CAD designs, large documents, etc., a T1 can usually accommodate most business's requirements. In addition, a T1 connection is a dedicated link and unlike ISDN and analog modem connections, a T1 connection is always on.
Cobalt's T1s are ideal for customers who need high-speed connectivity to the Internet or as a link in a real or virtual private network. A Cobalt T1 will provide your business with dedicated high-speed access to your applications, the Internet, or other business locations. Cobalt's T1 are scalable so that they can provide more bandwidth and faster access to meet your business needs. Our T1s provide guaranteed symmetrical speeds of 1.544Mbps, end-to-end.
Service Options
T1 - Clear Channel
Cobalt's most popular product for businesses. We offer a full (1.54Mbps) symmetrical pipeline between a Cobalt data center and a client's location or from one client location to another.
T1 - Channelized
In addition to a clear channel T-1 for data communications and Internet access, Cobalt has the ability to provide up to 24 separate channels with a mixture of traditional voice, video and data communications all in one connection. For a small to medium business, this may be a very smart choice as Cobalt can provide local dial tone, long distance, videoconferencing and data communications with Internet access.
Frame Relay w/ CIR from 64KB to 1.54Mbps
For voice and Internet connections to multiple locations anywhere in the United States, Cobalt can provide access to Frame Relay services. Typically, an entire T-1, or higher speed circuit will be connected to each location, but only the portion of that bandwidth that is known to be required is guaranteed as a Committed Information Rate (CIR). However, the entire capacity of the circuit is potentially available. This combination of CIR and burstable bandwidth is usually more affordable than dedicated T-1, or higher speed circuits to each location.

Point-2-PointT
Designed to connect two separate locations together via a dedicated T1 connection. This product is designed to allow businesses the ability to create a WAN environment between remote locations. These connections are traditionally used by businesses that need to share information such as financial information, point-of-sale transactions, etc., run SAP types of applications, or allow access to intra-company databases. Cobalt can also provide Internet access on these circuits if desired.
